MIDAS FALL
Midas Fall kick-started 2012 with the release of five-track EP ‘As Our Blood Separates’ and a slot at Switzerland’s Deadline Festival in January. In the following months they will continue work on their second album due for release in early 2013.
Following their signing with UK independent Monotreme Records (65daysofstatic, This Will Destroy You, Jeniferever), UK-based post rock quartet Midas Fall have been quietly building a loyal fanbase since their inception in 2009, which saw the group self release their debut EP ‘Century’ and gain national airplay from, amongst others, BBC Introducing’s Tom Robinson.
2011 saw Midas Fall complete their first European tour, including a slot at Belgium’s Dunk! Festival, support Heather Peace for three sold-out shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London, play Germany’s Dark Spring Festival, support label-mates Jeniferever and Kerrang! favourites Hawk Eyes and share the main stage at GoGo Festival with US legends Betty. 2011 also saw the band secure endorsements from DiPinto Guitars, Dava Picks and Lion Cajon Drums.
Their debut album ‘Eleven. Return and Revert’ had its worldwide release with Monotreme in April 2010. Garnering numerous glowing reviews comparing them to the likes of Portishead, Bat For Lashes and Explosions in the Sky. The album was recently voted number four in Greece’s RockingGR magazine’s top albums of 2010 and charted in Amazon Germany’s top sixty best-selling rock albums of 2010.
Midas Fall have previously supported Japanese post-rock legends Mono and secured a coveted synch for their track ‘MovieScreens’ on BBC3′s Lip Service soundtrack – a soundtrack which charted in the UK’s top 20 and has since been released in Canada and Australia, increasing the bands overseas following.
